The article focuses on the lack of improvement in the past 30 years regarding masculine social pressure in order for men college students to be strong, independent and stoic. The author notes that these gender expectations lead to the mortality gap, violence, suicide, and the use/abuse of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs among men on campus.
