- Abstract
The declaration of the Republic, which is a turning point for Turkey, has led to changes and innovations in many areas, and has also been influential in the field of architecture. Especially with the change of lifestyles, there were also differences in the typological, sociological and tectonic structure of housing. In this study, the change of residential TIPL decency in Afyonkarahisar between 1960-2020 was analyzed in socio - cultural context. The aim of the study was to determine the factors that were factors in the development of housing between 1960-2020 and to measure the effect of these factors on the change of housing typology in Afyonkarahisar City.Dec. It was determined that the factors that may cause socio-cultural change were changes in the population, migrations, the existence of the University and international architectural movements, and the examples of housing selected in Afyonkarahisar City were analyzed. Data such as plan diagrams, photos, current status, typological relations, technical characteristics of selected housing samples were collected and content analysis was performed and tables were created for these data. Through the tables created, socio-cultural factors affecting housing typology and housing development in Afyonkarahisar city between 1960 and 2020 were associated Dec. As a result, Afyonkarahisar has a significant impact on the housing development of the university and in this context, especially 1+1 or 2+1 housing production has increased significantly. With the growth of the population in Afyonkarahisar city, the demand for luxury housing increased, and in parallel, different types of housing were built according to living standards. It has also been observed that public housing, which is spreading rapidly in our country, is again an important element for the city.
