CITIZENS DISUNITED.
- Authors
Winter, Steven L.
- Abstract
The article examines the corporate citizenship and democratic sustainability of the U.S. political system following the Supreme Court ruling of the case Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission (FEC). It notes the necessary protection and enlightened self-government brought by citizens' right to inquire, hear, speak, and use of information to reach consensus. It contends that First Amendment equating corporations is not universal, unified, and indivisible.
