The article argues that jurors should be allowed to ask questions of witnesses during trials in order to reach the right verdict in the U.S. The author provides a historical background and empirical data to support the use of this practice, as well as a procedural roadmap for judges to follow in order to encourage its expansion to criminal jury trials.
