The article examines the poetry of English poet John Clare. Clare's poetry reportedly seems to be written at pace and impulse instead of craft which captivates readers. It explores Clare's writing style, poetic inspiration in momentary impulse, and his own descriptions of his poems. Also analyzed are several of Clare's poems which include "Lyrical Ballads," "The Midsummer Cushion," and "The Lyric Impulse."
