- Title
CASE MANAGEMENT OF MENTALLYILL OFFENDERS IN A COMMUNITY SETTING.
- Authors
Williams, James H.
- Abstract
Seriously mentally ill individuals now constitute a significant portion of those involved in the criminal justice system. Many of these are housed in jails and prisons, while others are sentenced to community corrections (probation, parole). The special needs of these individuals present challenges to community corrections officers, mental health and social service providers. Some experiences of the Cook County Illinois Adult Probation Department's Mental Health Unit are examined.
