- Abstract
The article discusses the traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) diagnosis of an eight-year old female shorthaired cat that was afflicted with chronic gingivitis. It says that TCVM diagnose the cat with the water element constitution and had various deficiencies including stomach or yin deficiency due to the gingivitis, kidney or jing deficiency due to the abnormal gait, and heart blood and qi stagnation due to the heart murmur. It says that TCVM treatment protocol recommended tui-na or Chinese herbal medicine accompanied by various techniques like rou-fa or kneading and moo-fa or massage and food therapy. Also included are various tables related to TCVM practice like the tui-na techniques, acupoints, and ingredients of the jade lady Chinese herbal medicine and their effects.
