- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the novel by Stephen Marlowe "Colossus: Novel about Goya and a World Gone Mad" in relation to the history and evolution of the historical novel. It highlights Avrom Fleishman who argued that a historical novel's subject must contain man in history or human life conceived as historical life. The article also states that the novel is about the biography of the Spanish painter of Aragonese origin Francisco de Goya y Lucientes.
