Tenant compensated for lost profits under lease agreement.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a ruling of the Supreme Court of Kansas which held that a tenant was entitled to a portion of a lessee's condemnation award for compensation of lost profits based on the leased agreement. It is reported that BCB LLC was the leasehold owner of a property in Kansas and Payless Shoesource Inc. was the tenant. BCB argued that Payless was entitled to the value of the unexpired lease term.
