- Authors
Olfson, Mark; Pincus, Harold A.; Pardes, Herbert
- Abstract
The authors discusses the significance of utilizing opportunities within the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for evidence-based treatments for serious mental illnesses in the U.S. The ACA is expected to fully extend health insurance to almost 4 million uninsured people with severe mental disorders. The authors assert that the ACA also presents opportunities to expand access to supported employment services that have been effective in increasing employment rates for adults with serious mental illness.
