The article features Colonel Eugène Jamot and his dedication and achievements in controlling the human African trypanosomiasis (HAT) or sleeping sickness. Topics discussed include a systematic and sustained offensive launched by Jamot in 1916 in Oubangui-Chari, the therapeutic ranges and toxicity of atoxyl and tryparsamide, and the mobile health concept to improve health care.
