- Abstract
In order to clarify the issues related to the costume style of characters in the lacquer paintings excavated from tomb No.2 in Baoshan, firstly, the image information of the lacquer paintings excavated from tomb No.2 in Baoshan was analyzed, and identifies it as the "wedding ceremony" of Chu people. Then, taking the lacquer paintings excavated from tomb No.2 in Baoshan as the study object, the costume categories of different characters in the wedding rituals of the Chu people such as betrothal gifts presenting, engagement date noticing, meeting of families, bride escorting were analyzed based on evidences of images, documents, and the excavated materials. It is concluded that the wedding costumes of the Chu State people are characterized by slender and light styles, simple design, and a clear hierarchy.
