- Abstract
Superfine fiber terry fabrics with different grams per square meters are prepared by warp knitting technique using polyester-nylon microfiber. Finishing technics such as cutting piles, sanding and tourmaline(TM) functional treatment were applied to modify the state of surface fibers. The samples were then characterized and analyzed by the tensile strength, microstructure and filtration performance. The results showed that the filtration performance of fabrics had a close relation with the knitting specifications, and the filtration efficiency and resistance are both increased with the fabric gram weight. Cutting piles and sanding had an influence on the distribution of superfine fiber on the fabric surface, which lead to changes to the filtration performance. TM functional finishing were verified to have an active influence on enhancing filtering effects.
