- Abstract
A commentary on the ruling of the British Columbia Supreme Court on the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association and John Howard Society of Canada versus Attorney General to challenge the provisions of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act that authorize administrative segregation, is presented. Topics covered include impact on the constitutionality of solitary confinement, psychosocial dimensions of isolated confinement, and reasons for the use of isolation as punishment.
