- Abstract
The article looks at the development of Uplands, a residential neighborhood within Oak Bay, British Columbia, by landscape architect John Charles Olmsted. It states that Olmsted was chosen to design Uplands for his modern, natural style. It also looks at the modern day applications for Olmsted's style looking at topics such as sustainability, conservation of land, and large lot vs. small lot development.
