- Title
Psychosocial and Relationship Issues in Men with Erectile Dysfunction.
- Authors
DiMeo, Patrick J.
- Abstract
The article discusses psychosocial effects and relationship issues confronting men with erectile dysfunction (ED). It is stated that ED affects about 30 million American men ages 18 to 59. Most men do not seek medical help due to different reasons including lack of support and fear or denial of the issue. Men with ED can suffer anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and decrease in quality of life. Clinicians need to establish an atmosphere that is comfortable for patients.
