- Title
UN Policy on Domestic Partners Thaws a Bit.
- Abstract
The editorial comments on the United Nations, from the perspective of the GLBT community. Brazil and other countries at the U.N. Commission on Human Rights forced the issue of GLBT rights on the inter-governmental organization in 2003. The United Nations' remuneration package for employees has changed to include nontraditional families because of advocacy by the Federation of Internation Civil Servants Associations (FISCA) and the U.N. Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Employees (UN-GLOBE) organizations. However, the external stance of the U.N. on GLBT rights has not changed.
