- Abstract
The article presents a response to Warner North's commentary on an article about the cost-benefit analysis of transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The authors assert that their article is not concerned with risk assessment in hazardous material transportation, but with its application to a cost-benefit analysis. They address issues raised by North, including the importance of including in the analysis tunnels and other singular points of road networks where severe accidents may take place, the use of constant accident frequencies on the road network analyzed, and their supposed failure to consider on-road population in risk-assessment.
