- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of bacteriophages to treat bacterial infections resistant to available in Poland. The Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy is the only place yet in the European Union where patients can officially get bacteriophage treatment. This is because bacteriophage-based drugs have not been approved by any drug regulatory agency except those of some republics in the former Soviet Union. Although rigorous evidence from animal experiments backs the claims about the efficacy of bacteriophage therapy.
