The German National Library is lowering the minimum age for using its collections in the reading rooms in Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main from 18 to 16 years in order to promote freedom of information and opinion. The German Book and Writing Museum is launching a new podcast called "AugenRausch" (Eye Rush), which deals with the topic of images as a source of knowledge. The ZBW - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics is contributing its expertise in research data infrastructures to the new "Leibniz Lab" format of the Leibniz Association. The TIB - Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library is advocating for open research information and has signed the "Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information". The Bavarian State Library has digitized and made available online the stern photo archive. The Klassik Stiftung Weimar (Weimar Classic Foundation) will dedicate the year 2024 to the existential contradictions of the 20th century with the theme year "Auf/Bruch" (Break/Upheaval). A central exhibition titled "Bauhaus and National Socialism" examines the entanglements of the State Bauhaus with National Socialism. The special exhibition "Sophie. Power. Literature - A Regent Inherits Goethe" at the Goethe and Schiller Archive in Weimar focuses on the work of Grand Duchess Sophie of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach.
