The article discusses the study which examines the effect of pre- and post-treatment of selenium in mercury intoxication on mice. It was claimed that selenium treatment resulted in an increased level of lipid peroxidation and glutathione. The treatment also resulted in restoration of the depletion of enzymatic activities including catalase activity and mercury concentration in the kidney, tissues, and liver.
