The article discusses the re-emergence of vitamin D-deficiency rickets in Northern Canada and Alaska. Topics covered include the highlights of an article about rickets in Aboriginal children in the north published in the "Canadian Medical Association Journal" in 2007, details relating to incidence of rickets in Alaska from 2001 to 2010 and identified factors that cause rickets in Aboriginal children. It discusses the efforts of health care providers in preventing rickets.
