- Title
Therapeutic hypothermia following cardiac arrest.
- Authors
Long, Brit; Gottlieb, Michael
- Abstract
The article evaluates therapeutic hypothermia, or targeted temperature management (TTM), following cardiac arrest based on a systematic review of six randomized trials involving 2900 participants. The review concludes that hypothermic TTM does not significantly improve the chance of survival or favorable neurological outcomes in comatose survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, highlighting the limited benefits of this intervention.
