Busby, Mark
- Abstract
The article features literary works and films which depict the Pecos River, which flows from New Mexico to Texas. The book "A Journey Through Texas," by Frederick Law Olmstead, promulgates the notion that west of the Pecos was no man's land. The literary fiction "Death Comes for the Archbishop," by Willa Cather has references of the upper Pecos, particularly Pecos Pueblo.
