- Abstract
The article discusses the United States' Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, which is focused on supporting efforts to promote safe walking and biking to schools. The authors highlight the implementation of the program at the Oak Grove Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia, and special attention is paid to the education and traffic safety components of SRTS for students, parents, and faculty. Efforts to improve the safety of intersections and crossings near the school are described.
