- Abstract
The IGF project Chion at the Technical University of Dresden has successfully produced highly pure chitosan filament yarns. For this purpose, a solvent wet spinning process using ionic solvents was used. By selectively adjusting the molecular properties of chitosan and the spinning process, a robust and transferable solvent wet spinning process could be developed. The produced chitosan filament yarns were successfully tested in various textile processing processes. The project was funded by the Research Association Research Board Textile e.V.
