The article discusses the clarification of the law regarding mercy killing, euthanasia and assisted suicide. It also mentions that the conjoined appeals to die at the time of one's choosing engages fundamental common law rights as well as the right to private life protected by Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). It states the examples by appellants and commentary saying that the event of conflict with legislation, statute must prevail and the common law must give way.
