- Title
Long-term overall survival and metastasis-free survival for men with prostate-specific antigen-recurrent prostate cancer after prostatectomy: analysis of the Center for Prostate Disease Research National Database.
- Abstract
The author evaluates a study which analyzed the long-term survival of men from prostate cancer after radical prostatectomy (RP). This commentary acknowledges the probability that prostate-specific-antigen doubling time (PSA DT) could recur within 10 years of surgery in metastasis-free patients. The author affirms results of the study that showed the lowest risk of death for patients with a PSA DT longer than 9 months compared to higher risk for patients with less than 3 months of PSA DT.
