- Title
Many Benefits Realized After a Long‐Term Fuel Reduction and Restoration Study in Western Montana.

- Abstract
A long-term study conducted in western Montana has demonstrated the benefits of fire hazard reduction and restoration treatments in forest ecology. The study found that mechanical treatments, combined with fire treatments, had long-lasting effects, including reduced severity of insect outbreaks and regeneration of desirable tree species. The study's simple design and clear results have made it a popular resource for outdoor education and technology transfer. The study is documented in the article "Long-term efficacy of fuel reduction and restoration treatments in Northern Rockies dry forests" by Sharon M. Hood, Justin S. Crotteau, and Cory Cleveland.
