- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a fatal bacteremia in a 66-year-old woman with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treated for chronic Graft-versus-Host-Disease (GvHD), highlighting significant challenges in detecting bacteremia on blood smear. Topics discussed include the presence of free and intracellular bacteria, analytical interferences affecting platelet counts, and the critical implications of bacteremia in sepsis management due to its rapid progression and poor prognosis.
