Blackhawk, Ned
- Abstract
The article discusses trends in the historiography of Indians of North America, particularly focusing on the Northwest coastal regions. It examines the study of indigenous peoples in Washington State and British Columbia, reflected in the journal "British Columbia Studies." Several studies are considered, including "The Resettlement of British Columbia: Essays on Colonialism and Geographical Change," by Cole Harris, "The Potlatch Papers: A Colonial Case History," by Christopher Bracken, and "Oregon and the Collapse of Illahee: U.S. Empire and the Transformation of an Indigenous World, 1792-1859," by Gray H. Whaley. Indigenous visibility at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia is also considered.
