- Abstract
Vertical centrifugal pump inversion can be used for energy recovery, using the reversibility of hydraulic machinery to achieve power grid regulation and reduce carbon emissions. There is a difference between pump and water turbine operating conditions, which is a point that needs to be clarified for reversing energy recovery. Based on the model experiment, this paper uses the governing equation of turbulence to conduct the analysis based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and compares the performance simulation results of pump working conditions and water turbine working conditions, the hydraulic loss of the passing parts and the evaluation methods of flow energy loss, so as to obtain the working characteristics and rules under different turbine working conditions and pump working conditions. This paper discusses the characteristics of reverse energy recovery of vertical guide vane volute centrifugal pump and evaluates the feasibility of reverse energy recovery. The results show that the corresponding flow rate in the high efficiency zone of the turbine condition ( inversion) is slightly larger than that in the pump condition. The hydraulic loss is mainly to impeller outlet and guide vane under pump condition, while impeller and tailpipe under turbine condition. This study can provide further scientific support for the energy recovery technology of hydraulic machinery reversal.
