- Abstract
The article presents a study that seeks to determine how health services volunteers are changing by comparing current health service volunteers with prospective volunteers according to their demographic and motivational characteristics. The scientists also seek to determine what segments exist in the volunteering population by dividing the current volunteer sample into segments defined by the amount of personal time the volunteers have sacrificed, and whether they have been volunteers for a long or short amount of time.
