- Abstract
The article focuses on role mass mobilization in shaping relationship of people with the State and discusses popular bias surrounding the democratic character of such uprisings. It features the events of Egypt and Ukraine in this context which resulted in ouster of former Presidents Hosni Mubarak and Mohamed Morsi respectively. The author opines that mobilization is not always the path to democratization pointing out that it is necessary to separately analyze regime change from uprisings.
