- Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world, with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) a condition of this group of high prevalence, morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of deaths caused by AI in adults from 20 to 59 years in Goiás from 2012 to 2021. This is a descriptive study with data from the Mortality Information System (SIM) Unified Health System. The variables analyzed were: year, place, gender, age, race, education, marital status, macroregion and health region according to the place of residence. The data were descriptively analyzed in absolute and relative numbers. Between 2012 and 2021, Goiás presented 7,399 deaths for yes registered in SIM. The death was more frequent in male individuals (71.2%), married (38.4%), in the age group of 50 to 59 years (61.8%), with 4 to 7 years of study (26, 1%) and the non -white breed (65.4%). The Midwest macroregion concentrated the largest number of death records (30.5%), especially the central and south health regions. Increase in the year 2021.
