- Abstract
Biomass is the most abundant renewable resource on the planet. With the rapid development of the human society and emergence of energy and resource crises, the development and utilization of the renewable resources has gradually become a hot spot in the world, and the research on the transformation of agricultural biomass resources has become an important basis and strategic issue of resource utilization in China. China has become a major producer and consumer of amino acids with a total annual output of more than 5 million tons. At present, the fermentation production of amino acids usually uses corn starch hydrolysate as carbon source. Therefore, expanding the source of raw materials and searching alternative raw materials to reduce the cost of carbon sources, has a decisive effect on the cost of amino acids. In this paper, the current status of our country's biomass resources and the production methods were mainly introduced, and the research progress and existing problems of amino acid production from cellulose hydrolysate were emphatically discussed, which provided a new idea for the rational utilization of lignocellulose and the development of amino acids.
