The author presents her views regarding the fair use of images in the teaching, research and study of art history. She comments that current copyright law is not helping the profession fulfill the essential goal of finding, accessing and using high-quality images. She suggests that professional organizations such as the Visual Resources Association should do more to remedy this state of affairs.
