- Abstract
The March 2024 issue of Neurospine features several articles on neurosurgery. One study compares different spine pedicle screw fixation methods and finds that robotic surgery, especially when combined with minimally invasive approaches, reduces tissue damage without compromising effectiveness. Another study explores the use of neurosurgical robots for bone grinding and highlights the challenges and benefits of robotic assistance in neurosurgery. A third study tests the feasibility of creating synthetic spinal computed tomography (CT) images from biplanar radiographs, showing promising results for enhancing spinal assessment and intervention planning. Lastly, a study evaluates the accuracy of ChatGPT in providing medical information for lumbar disc herniation, emphasizing the need for further research to ensure its safe application. Additionally, a study analyzes the outcomes of emergency surgery in patients with spinal metastases, identifying risk factors and emphasizing the importance of vigilant monitoring.
