- Abstract
The article presents two comments on an earlier article in the same issue of this publication titled, "Toward a Concept of Domesticated Markets," by Johan Arndt. Professor Bent Stidsen notes that markets are being addressed on two levels, the micro-market of individual companies, and the macro-market which deals with channels of distribution or the market's effect on society or vice versa. Stidsen argues that Arndt might take his argument further and explore the market behavior and performance of this new concept of markets. A second comment by Professor Charles S. Goodman argues that Professor Arndt has not happened upon a new concept, it has its origins in the Aldersonian framework of marketing theory, but that many are using this concept as a political argument against open market systems.
