- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of making informed decisions about contract formation tools, types, and approaches in order to achieve desired outcomes in defense acquisition. It highlights the use of Commercial Solutions Openings (CSO) as a means to reduce competition burden on commercial companies and accelerate award decisions. The article also emphasizes the need to consider different contract types, such as firm fixed price (FFP) contracts and Fixed Price Incentive Firm (FPIF) contracts, based on the specific requirements of each acquisition.
