- Abstract
The article focuses on the energy conservation measures adopted by Mountain Equipment Co-op at its new head office building, situated in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. it is noted that during the design process, the design team applied different modeling tools to evaluate and design the various options. The new buildings energy consumption costs are 48% less, after an year of operation, than the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB) 1997 reference model.
