- Abstract
The place of love discourse in the works of women writers is hardly disputed, as the feeling of love has long been considered their domain. Some women writers deviate from the normative framework by staging relationships and romance in less sentimental terms. To what extent are these works reported on in press articles? To answer this question, this article examines the critical reception of Claire Martin's Avec ou sans amour and Nelly Arcan's Folle. More specifically, this study reflects on the relationship between literary genre, gendered genre, critical reception and love discourse.
