- Abstract
In an era where globalization seems to be threatening cultural diversity, the author examines the development of cultural references in communities. This development is based on the actions of certain individuals who change the landscape through small gestures. Are students who leave to study abroad to be considered as included among these "identity navigators"? This paper investigates the vector status of students in the International Program of Université Laval. A clearer definition of the vector concept is built through interviews with a number of these students, revealing a certain modulation of their cultural references.
