- Abstract
The article explores the benefits and disadvantages of using technology in education, and pays particular focus to its impact on children and Montessori schools. The author discusses the policy of Waldorf schools that eliminates technology in education, the position of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the degree to which 21st century Americans rely on technology. She also comments on the Montessori statement "The Secret of Childhood" and the need to adapt educational practices to reflect the requirements of 21st century society.
