- Authors
Redfield, Sarah E.; Kraft, Theresa
- Abstract
The article discusses special education law in the U.S. as of January 2012, focusing on the U.S. Supreme Court cases Brown v. Board of Education and Board of Education v. Rowley, as well as the impact of educational legislation and case law on minority students in the U.S. such as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans. One difference between the cases of Brown and Rowley is the categorization of the students involved. In Brown, the students were categorized by race, and in Rowley they were categorized by disability.
