- Abstract
The Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education comprises the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology, the Federal Technological University of Paraná, the Federal Technological Education Centers, the Technical Schools linked to the Federal Universities and the Pedro II College. Its social mission is to qualify professionals for the various sectors of the Brazilian economy, carry out research and develop new processes, products and services in collaboration with the productive sector. The Federal Network is recognized for integrating privileged institutions that promote and socialize knowledge, through teaching, research, extension and innovation processes, as well as environmental education, in the light of sustainability dimensions. Its administrative and teaching activities produce negative social and environmental impacts, like any other types of organizations. To mitigate the social and environmental impacts produced, Normative Instruction 10/2012 requires the preparation of a Sustainable Logistics Management Plan by direct and indirect federal public bodies, such as the Federal Network. In view of the above, the question is: How do the managements of the Federal Institutes deal with the obligation to comply with the Normative Instruction on the mitigation of the social and environmental impacts produced? Thus, the general objective of this study is to analyze compliance with this legal order, by the management of the Federal Institutes, regarding the mitigation of the negative social and environmental impacts caused in their headquarters and campuses. The study brings an exploratory, descriptive-reflective research. The collection of secondary data took place on the electronic pages of the IF. Preliminary results show a low rate of compliance with IN 10/2012, on the part of the managers of the Federal Institutes.
