The author reflects on the growing discontent among nursing professionals in the United Kingdom (UK) as shown in the planned industrial action by the Royal College of Nursing, the first in the group's history. Also cited are the alleged underinvestment in the healthcare sector resulting in issues like long wait list for hospital treatment and acute staff shortages, and the importance of the nursing sector in the delivery of care and support to patients under palliative and end-of-life care.
