- Abstract
The essay discusses the importance of program quality in corrections, in light of research by Lowenkamp, Latessa, and Smith (2006), which mentions the influence of program integrity on recidivism. A comprehensive model of program planning, development and evaluation can increase the effectiveness of correctional interventions. Topics include evaluation of programmatic variations by the CPAI metric, the methodologies of evaluability assessment and process evaluation, and the outlook for multilevel research designs.
