The article focuses on how child neurology is affected by fatty acid oxidation disorders (FAO). Topics discussed include FAO disorders becoming prevalent under stressors like fever with infection and prolonged fasting, risk of developing Reye syndrome in children with FAO disorders, anticonvulsant, medium-chain fatty acid valproic acid (VPA) associated with Reye-like syndrome and phenotypes which can be used in research on FAO disorders.
