- Abstract
The study aimed to explore the economic benefits of offspring growth performance in three genetic groups of meat rabbits (Alexandria line, V line & crossing between Alexandria line males and V line females). For the three genetic groups, the studied offspring growth traits were: individual weight at weaning (WW), 6 weeks (BW6), 8 weeks (BW8), 9 weeks the end of fattening period (SW), and individual daily weights gain. Analysis of variance results showed that live body of rabbits at marketing age was highly significantly (P ≤ 0.001) affected by the genetic groups. Also, the results indicated that least square means of body weight at 9 weeks of age increased by 135 & 277 gram in cross rabbits than those recorded for Alexandria line & V line rabbits, respectively. Furthermore, the result showed that economic efficiency and relative economic efficiency in AV genetic group increased by (36 % & 16 %) and (75 % & 33 %) than those found for AA and VV rabbits, respectively.
